December was a bumper month for me when it came to reading. Maybe because I allowed myself to give in to the exhaustion and therefore spend more time curled up with a book. I completed my December TBR: finish A Crown of Swords (though to be fair, I only had a quarter left by the time December started), read Melt during my monthly commute, and knocked Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow off my unread book club list. Then I went on to read The Pharmacist, Lucy by the Sea, The Path of Daggers (book 8 of Wheel of Time) and The Mountain in the Sea. Granted, some of those were short and fast reads, but still, a pretty good outcome for me and the best since early 2020.
So, what are my plans for January? Well, January is a big month for me with finally having my planned move back to Rotorua, so I’m not wanting to plan too much.
As I write this, it is currently a few days until the end of December and I plan to start If We Were Villains by M.L. Rio tonight. So I’d like to finish this in January.

I’d also like to read book 9 of Wheel of Time, Winter’s Heart. This would take me up to where I left the series, waiting for it to be completed.

I’d like to finally finish The Lathe of Heaven by Ursula K. Le Guin too. Though it’s been so long since I started it that I will need to start again.

And I still want to chip away at the backlog of book club books, especially as I won’t be picking up my latest club pick until the end of Jan when I get back to Rotorua. I decided to pick a small one for this month: The Mad Women’s Ball by Victoria Mas.

Have you set plans for what you would like to read in January?
